Mac specific e-mail settings

Entourage

1. On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
2. On the Mail tab, click New.
3 In the Account Setup Assistant box, type your name. This is the name that users see when they receive messages from you.
4. Click the arrow to advance to the next screen.
5. In the Your E-mail Address box, type your e-mail address, and then click the arrow to advance to the next screen.
6. In the Mail Servers dialog box, click POP3 from the My Incoming Mail Server list.
7. In the Incoming mail server box, type pop3.datagate.net.uk
8. In the Outgoing Mail box, input you ISP's SMTP (outgoing) server name. You may need to contact their support department to get this.
9. Click the arrow to advance to the next screen.
10. In the Account ID box, put in your POP3 username (usually this is your full e-mail address )
11. In the Password box, insert your pop3 password.
[Note: The Save Password option is automatically selected. If you want a to be prompted for a password when you check messages, click to clear the Save Password check box]
12. Click the arrow to advance to the next screen.
13. In the Account Name box, this is only to identify your Datagate account from others accounts and may be anything you wish.
14. Click Finish.

Outlook Express 5

1. Open Outlook Express
2. Go to Tools
3. Select 'Accounts'
Make sure the mail tab is highlighted
4. Click New
5. Select POP account type a. Click Assist Me and go to 6.
b. Or if you are an advanced user, click OK which will open the Edit Accounts screen and go to 16.

6. Enter you name in the box provided, this name will appear on your emails and is not case sensitive.
7. Click Next, (the right-facing arrow in the bottom right-hand corner).
8. Enter your email address.
9 Email server names:

The POP3 server is: pop3.datagate.net.uk
The SMTP server is: please get this information from your ISP.

10. Click Next.
11. In the Account ID field enter your username.
12. In the Password field enter your POP3 password
13. Click Next.
14. Enter an account name. This is only to identify your Datagate account from others accounts and may be anything you wish.
15. Click Finish.

To edit your account information yourself:

16. In the Account Name field, enter Datagate POP3, although this can be anything you wish.
17. In the Name field, enter your actual name.
18. In the email address field, enter your email address.
19. In the Account ID field, enter your Datagate username (usually this is your e-mail address).
20. In the POP Server field, enter pop3.datagate.net.uk
21. In the password field, enter your pop3 password.
22. And finally in the SMTP Server field, enter your ISP's smtp details.
23. Click OK.


Outlook Express 4

1. Open Outlook Express
2. Click on Edit on the menu bar and select Preferences.
3. Add a New Email Account:
4. From the Preferences box select "Accounts" then "E-mail".
5. Select New Account.
6. You will be prompted for a new account name. This is only to identify your Datagate account from others accounts and may be anything you wish. e.g. Datagate POP3 account
7. Click OK. You will then be required to fill in the following details.

Full Name: This can be anything you wish - it is how your name will appear on emails that you send.
Email Address: username@domainname.com
SMTP Server: ask your ISP
Account ID: your username as sent out by Datagate or as you set it up via the control panel. It is usually your full e-mail address.
POP Server: pop3.datagate.net.uk


Eudora

1. In Eudora, go to the SPECIAL menu and select SETTINGS
2. In the Options window, you will see several icons on the left. Select GETTING STARTED
3. In the USERNAME field, enter your Datagate e-mail username (usually your full e-mail address )
4. In the MAIL SERVER field, enter pop3.datagate.net.uk
5. In the REAL NAME field, type your name the way you would like people to see it when they get e-mail from you.
6. In the SMTP SERVER field, you will need to enter your ISP's SMTP or Outgoing mail server. Please contact their support to find out what this is.
7. In the RETURN ADDRESS field, enter your e-mail address.
8. Click OK. This completes the basic setup - you should now be able to send and receive email in Eudora.
